About the job
The SAS EVAAS team is looking for an Analytical Consultant to implement growth models and predictive analytics with K-12 assessment data. The Analytical Consultant will also provide statistical and SAS programming expertise to internal and external customers of the SAS EVAAS product.
SAS EVAAS uses longitudinal student assessment and teacher data systems to provide growth measures or value-added models, predictive analytics, and other analyses to districts, schools, teachers, and educators in general. These analyses can be used informally for school improvement as well as for more formal high-stakes measures of accountability, evaluation and/or merit pay.
As an Analytical Consultant, you will:
Required qualifications
Masters degree in Statistics highly preferred, or closely related field with knowledge in the application of statistics using the SAS system.
Minimum 5 years of experience analyzing data and/or teaching.
Public speaking and/or consulting experience in a relevant role.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with individuals from diverse technical backgrounds, including in remote and hybrid work environments.
Proven capability of interpreting complex mathematical documentation
Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as attention to detail
Ability to work productively both independently and as part of a team
Demonstrated ability to meet strict deadlines and other customer specifications
Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.

SAS Certification or at least one year using the SAS system
Knowledge of SAS macro language
Prior experience with linear mixed models, ANCOVA, and/or HLM models
Prior experience with large data sets and/or education data
Prior experience with relational database concepts including primary/foreign key constraints and adhering to defined database schemas
Prior experience with code management, source or version control in GitHub or similar
