The Product Security team at SAS is responsible for improving the security posture of SAS software by guiding our engineering teams in secure coding practices and techniques.   

 

As an intern, you might: 

  • Assist in researching and building security posture management dashboards and tools.  
  • Assist in performing secure design review and threat modeling to identify threats and risks to applications and proposing solutions based on security best practice.   
  • Assist with application security testing to investigate and propose remediations for vulnerabilities and weaknesses in code and applications, considering code, design, and deployment.  
  • Research new tools and technologies in the application security space that could lead to improved processes and outcomes.  
  • Research opportunities to use AI technologies to improve the security of applications as well as test and secure AI technologies themselves.  

 

Required Qualifications 

  • You’re an undergraduate student studying Cyber Secuirty, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, not graduating prior to December 2025. 
  • You've got programing experience in one or more of the following languages: Python, Go, JavaScript, Typescript 
  • You’re curious, passionate, authentic, and accountable. These are our values and influence everything we do.  
  • Have strong communication skills – both written and verbal.   
  • You love reading news stories around cyber security attacks and outcomes.  
  • Embrace technology. You geek out over the latest and greatest!  

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Familiar with product or application security concepts  
  • Familiar with at least one public cloud provider (i.e. AWS, Azure, or GCP)   
  • Basic understanding of the software development lifecycle and its best practices (i.e. Agile, CI/CD, DevOps)   
  • Basic understanding of source control (i.e. GIT or SVN)   

 

Internship dates: May 19 – August 7, 2026.

Pay Transparency: The hourly rate for SAS internships is determined by the applicant’s year in school and the position they are hired into. Hourly rates range from $15 – $31 for associate’s/bachelor’s level positions and $29 - $49/hour for master’s/Ph. D positions. Internship roles are not eligible for bonuses.
