Job Description

Summary of Duties:   

SAS Institute, Inc. seeks a Sr Analytical Technical Support Engineer to provide technical support for analytical enterprise-class SAS software applications and/or solutions by applying specialized domain knowledge of advanced analytics, software usage, features, functions, and interactions among applications and/or solution components. Responsible for the support of multiple enterprise-class business applications or solutions, as well as cloud-based software. Apply expertise in analytical techniques to interpret documentation, to suggest appropriate software features, SAS procedures, products, and/or solutions, and to troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve complex analytical and business domain problems and business critical issues that involve multiple areas of the SAS system. Provide references for formulas and analytical techniques that our algorithms use, where possible. Advise users how SAS software offerings compete, and/or how to most effectively use SAS in conjunction with other products. Leverage knowledge of analytics, analytical experience, domain and software knowledge, and customer feedback to enhance the quality and design of future software releases. Proactively influence product direction by advocating for customer needs and incorporating valuable insights gained from customer feedback. Share product knowledge by authoring software usage, problem, or sample notes, technical papers, technical presentations, and engaging in the SAS Communities. Suggest, manage, and implement special projects to assist Technical Support, users, or other teams. Cultivate deep knowledge of SAS products and their applications or specialized products related to the assigned area. Take ownership of supporting enterprise class business applications or solutions, including guiding Development, Marketing, and Education efforts. May work remotely pursuant to SAS’ Flexible Work Program.

 

Qualifications:   

Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Applied Mathematics, or related quantitative field of study plus eight (8) years of experience in the job offered or eight (8) years as a Statistical Analyst, Risk Business Analyst, Monitoring Consultant, Manager, or a related occupation.

 

Requires eight (8) years of relevant experience in software development, software testing, financial risk management in the banking/insurance industry, software consulting, and complex software applications support. Requires working knowledge of banking and insurance regulations. Requires expert level knowledge in SAS solutions in the banking and insurance domains. Strong working knowledge of SAS products and their applications, including one or more of the following: SAS Solution for IFRS17, SAS Solution for LDTI, SAS Dynamic Actuarial Modelling in insurance domain, SAS Allowance for Credit Loss, SAS Solution for Stress Testing, SAS Solution for IFRS9, or SAS Solution for CECL in banking domain. Requires prior experience managing projects. May work remotely pursuant to SAS’ Flexible Work Program.
