About the job:

JMP is looking for a Research Statistician Developer with expertise in statistical methods for reliability to join our growing team!

 

As a Research Statistician Developer, you will: 

  • Design, develop, and debug software for new and existing JMP products, with a focus on reliability applications.
  • Collaborate with other statisticians and developers to implement statistical methods into production-quality software.
  • Support the design and validation of software features related to reliability analysis and quality engineering.
  • Conduct applied research and translate statistical theory into practical tools for JMP users.
  • Participate in technical discussions with users and internal teams to refine product features.
  • Assist in planning and scheduling development tasks, balancing research and implementation.
  • Work closely with testing and documentation teams to ensure high-quality releases.
  • Promote newly developed software by presenting at user meetings and user conferences.
  • Promote new research by publishing research papers in peer reviewed journals and presenting at internationally recognized research conferences.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with a focus on reliability or engineering statistics.
  • Demonstrated experience in statistical reliability methods such as life data analysis, degradation modeling, and accelerated testing.
  • Strong programming skills and experience implementing statistical algorithms.
  • Ability to conduct independent research and contribute to collaborative development efforts.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a cross-functional team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic development environment.
  • Experience and/or knowledge may be gained through graduate-level educational curriculum and research.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with JMP, R, Matlab, or C++.
  • Applied experience in engineering or manufacturing settings.
  • Experience publishing or presenting research in statistical reliability or related fields.
