About the job

The JMP Test Engineering team plays a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of JMP and JMP Live. We work closely with developers and product teams to validate new features, identify issues, and maintain a high standard of software excellence.

 

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Functional Tester to join our Test Engineering team. This role is ideal for someone with foundational experience in software testing across computer systems, networks, and AWS environments. You’ll play a key role in validating functionality, identifying issues, and ensuring the quality of our software products.

 

As a Sr Associate Test Engineer you will:

  • Create test plans and Execute functional test cases for software applications across desktop, networked, and cloud-based environments.
  • Collaborate with developers and engineers to understand requirements and ensure test coverage.
  • Document test results, report bugs, and verify fixes.
  • Participate in test planning and contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes.
  • Support testing efforts for internal tools and public-facing platforms, including JMP Pro and the JMP Public Testing Server.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related quantitative field.
  • Basic experience in functional testing of computer software, network systems
  • Familiarity with Windows Server and Unix environments.
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle and QA methodologies.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in adapting to changing priorities.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Comfortable using software in one or more non-English languages.
  • Exposure to automated testing tools or scripting languages.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, especially AWS.
  • Familiarity with Jest for JavaScript testing and Postman for API testing.
  • Experience with Python for scripting or test automation.
  • Working knowledge of Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket for issue tracking, documentation, and version control.
  • Knowledge of JMP or similar statistical software is a plus.
