About the job:

We are expanding our SAS Managed Cloud Services team and seeking a Cloud Business Development Manager. This role involves:

  • Collaborating with Sales teams to architect SAS Managed Cloud solutions for our customers
  • Driving over 20% growth annually in cloud revenue
  • Leading customer transitions to SAS Viya 4
  • Developing proposals, pricing, and contracts
  • Accurately forecasting revenue and resource needs
  • Building extensive networks for customer support

The Cloud Business Development Manager plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of SAS Managed Cloud Services—partnering with sales teams, customers, and stakeholders to architect solutions that deliver measurable business value and accelerate growth.

 

In this dynamic role, you’ll champion customer success by guiding organizations through their cloud transformation journey, leveraging the latest SAS Viya 4 software solutions and industry best practices. Key Responsibilities of the Cloud Business Development Manager:

  • Drive Growth: Lead sales efforts to achieve at least 20% annual growth in SAS Managed Cloud Services revenue by identifying new opportunities and expanding existing accounts.
  • Architect Solutions: Collaborate with Sales teams and technical experts to design tailored SAS Managed Cloud solutions that address customer needs and maximize business value.
  • Customer Engagement: Build and nurture relationships with key decision-makers at target companies, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and long-term partnerships.
  • Opportunity Management: Manage a diverse portfolio of cloud services opportunities, from initial prospecting through contract negotiation and delivery handoff, ensuring timely and successful project execution.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement cloud sales strategies that support SAS software renewals, expansions, and new product launches across multiple industry verticals.
  • Proposal Development: Create compelling proposals and pricing estimates using industry best practices, clearly articulating customer-specific value propositions.
  • Forecasting & Reporting: Accurately forecast cloud-related revenue and resource requirements for management reporting, enabling data-driven business decisions.
  • Contract Negotiation: Lead contract development and negotiations for Managed Cloud Services offerings, ensuring favorable terms for both SAS and the customer.
  • Presentation & Communication: Prepare and deliver impactful presentations to customers and business partners, effectively communicating the value and capabilities of SAS Managed Cloud Services.
  • Continuous Support: Provide ongoing business development support throughout the customer lifecycle, maintaining continuity between account teams, delivery teams, and customers.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years' experience in sales, business partner relationship development, or technical roles within the technology sector
  • Comprehensive knowledge of strategic sales methodologies.
  • Demonstrated understanding of, and experience with, sales strategies and sales cycles.
  • Expertise in strategic selling, including the ability to analyze and assess territory dynamics to create and execute effective sales plans.
  • Proven experience with contract negotiations and the application of negotiation strategies.
  • Successful track record in closing deals and consistently achieving sales targets.
  • Extensive knowledge of contemporary technology environments, encompassing cloud platforms, IT infrastructure, managed services, and cyber security fundamentals.
  • Strong relationship-building capabilities, with the versatility to engage effectively with technical teams (e.g., Security, IT), non-technical business leaders, and compliance professionals.
  • Familiarity with Azure, AWS, and other cloud platforms, as well as enterprise-class cloud application deployment and management.
  • Experience in selling and/or operating within a managed services model.
  • Ability to contribute effectively within a team setting, as well as work independently when required.
  • Proficient public speaking and presentation skills, with experience presenting to internal stakeholders and clients.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree, ideally in Business, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Familiarity with SAS solutions, services, and architecture.
  • Completion of foundational certification in Azure, AWS, or GCP is highly desirable.
  • Experience with project management tools, Sales Opportunity Management applications, ServiceNow (or comparable systems), JIRA, Confluence, and other operational or business systems.
