As an IDeaS Technical Communicator, you are the creator and manager of a wide range of

content that enables IDeaS clients to recognize the value of our products. You will use your

creativity, data-driven insights, and communications expertise to create content experiences that are informative, effective, and memorable.

 

What you’ll be doing...

  • Develops and manages collections of information products, such as online help, in product guidance and messages, job aids, visual aids, and videos.
  • Translates complex technical topics into concise, clear language.
  • Conducts research and asks questions of subject matter experts to gather information and recognizes the need for additional information.
  • Follows product release cycles and networks with internal teams to document product changes and determine the need for revised or new information products.
  • Writes and publishes release notes in conjunction with product release cycles.
  • Provides feedback to product teams to improve product usability. May write User
  • Interface content, such as error messages.
  • Contributes to quality assurance of information products and recommends revisions to scope, format, and content.
  • Builds technical knowledge and troubleshooting skills to use content development tools effectively.
  • Leads audits and conducts maintenance tasks on information products.
  • Evaluates effectiveness of materials through metrics and reporting.
  • Understands technical communication principles, conventions, processes, delivery

methods, and tools.

  • References usage metrics to prioritize content needs and priorities.
  • Collaborates with members of the Learning Experience Design team to ensure a cohesive learning and performance support experience.
  • Creates and tracks status of project related tasks to manage workload and communicate progress to stakeholders and managers.
  • Tracks project contribution time to support accuracy of utilization metrics.
  • Ensures effective communication methods and approaches are used to yield the best results for users’ comprehension.
  • Follows writing standards and styles, including grammar, content structure, and style guides.
  • Acquires knowledge of hospitality industry and IDeaS lexicon appropriate to assignments.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

What you’ll bring to us…

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in writing, professional communications, or hospitality.
  • 5+ years of Technical Communications experience or three years of experience in a hospitality field with communications responsibilities.
  • Experience with all aspects of technical communications: writing, editing, knowledge of grammar, publishing, layout, design, and graphics.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of technical communications tools and technology, including MS Office tools, Help Authoring Tools, and versioning platforms. Preference for additional experience with in-product guidance technologies such as WalkMe.
  • Technical ability and flexibility to adopt, use, and troubleshoot tools and processes.
  • Understanding of Agile processes, including managing tasks in an iterative environment.
  • Ability to contribute to and incorporate style guidelines.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, research, planning, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as an independent team member on multiple concurrent projects, prioritize, determine methods, manage schedule, and resolve issues to meet defined deadlines.
  • Ability to Trave: 10%
