About the job

 

As a Frontend/UI Software Engineer, you will be part of the SAS Software-as-a-Service team who are at the forefront of building the foundation and the platform that supports SAS’s future cloud offerings. As a member of the team, you will help develop some of SAS’s most exciting new products like SAS® Viya® Workbench and SAS® Enterprise Session Monitor. This role involves mostly frontend React development and requires an adaptable engineer that can seamlessly transition between multiple React-based projects within the team. This job is a great opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute to the future of SAS.

 

As a Frontend / UI Engineer, you will:

  • Design and develop high quality, testable and scalable software solutions within established timelines while adhering to R&D best practices and processes.
  • Transition between multiple React-based projects, contributing effectively across diverse product teams and development cycles.
  • Design and implement reusable, high-quality React-based components to support the development of innovative product features and user interfaces.
  • Participate in all steps of the continuous development lifecycle - including design, development, and testing.
  • Ensure quality by creating and maintaining unit tests.
  • Provide support for the product to internal customers.
  • Collaborate with team members to implement innovative approaches to real world problems.
  • Collaborate with technical writers to share information with end users in the form of product documentation, videos, and/or white papers.
  • Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization’s secure software development goals.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience working on large complex software products as a developer.
  • 3+ years of experience in development using React for enterprise-level web applications.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • Strong foundation in HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript and related technologies.
  • Experience with using RESTful API.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in working with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with CI/CD and associated tools like Jenkins, Git, Gerrit, Linux commands, etc.
  • Experience with UI frameworks like Vue.js, Svelte, Astro, or Angular.
